Oreo Cream Cheese Cookies

Oh my sweet sweet goodness, how long was I going to stay away?

So sorry!

Let's just jump back into it though, shall we?

So I finally did it.  I bought a new camera.  It's a real grown-up lady type camera too.  I am insanely excited about it and have been snapping shots of Cricket like even MORE of a nutball than usual, if you can imagine that.  As you can see, she is quite photogenic.

Costa Rica Wrap Up - Quepos

So we're back from a wonderful honeymoon in Costa Rica.

Actually we've been back for a week and I'm just now getting around to posting about it.

Since I lost the camera all the pictures are going to be lame from now on.  AND I'm actually going to bake today for the first time in FAAAAR too long, and I won't even be able to take good pictures of it because of the camera situation.  But back to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica Day 4 Montezuma

Today we took the ferry over to the western peninsula of Costa Rica and drove south to a small beach town on the south eastern side of the peninsula called Montezuma.

Costa Rica Day 3 Cloud Forest

Today was the real rainforest day.  We're still in the town of Monteverde, but today we spent most of it in the Cloud Forest in Selvatura Park.  I'll get into all that in a bit.

We came back in the afternoon and visited this awesome little restaurant in town.  I liked the way it looked from the outside.  We were going for authentic this time...trying to make up for the Italian restaurant yesterday.

Costa Rica Day 2 Monteverde

There are a few things I absolutely love about this country so far.

Wifi.  Everywhere.  We are in the jungle.  On top of a mountain.  In a secluded little bungalow or whathaveyou.

Jim in front of our bungalow.

Kitchens kitchens everywhere but not a thing to cook.

It's ridiculously beautiful.  I'm doing the typical tourista thing and taking photos out the car window of the views, and none of them come out as gorgeous as I'm seeing them.  This place is rainforest juxtaposed with beaches, lakes, mountains, towns, and tons of local flavor.  Speaking of flavor...

Costa Rica, Day 1 Arenal

So Jim and I are here in Costa Rica.  This is Day 1 of our honeymoon.  We decided to spend our trip renting a car and driving all over the country, spending about 2 nights in each destination.

Our first stop was Arenal Volcano, in the northern central portion of Costa Rica.

Let me first describe to you the travel that got us here yesterday.  We flew from DC, stopped over in Panama, and finished up our trip in San Jose.  There, we rented a car and drove some 2 and a half hours up to Arenal Volcano.
